"I’m surprised this B&B has received such good reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was quite different. I found the owner, Steven, to be unnecessarily rude, and I was disappointed with the overall cleanliness of the property.
Someone also appeared to have been smoking in the bathroom, as there was a very strong cigarette smell that spread into parts of the downstairs area. It was particularly unpleasant for a non-smoking property.
I stayed at six different B&Bs while traveling through Denmark...
"Cozy room with a peaceful atmosphere. Our family of four found the room surprisingly spacious and very comfortable. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. There were lots of toys for our toddler to play with, which made her feel right at home, and the host even went out of his way to give her a thoughtful little parting gift before we left. We highly recommend this place and would gladly stay here again."
"We loved our brief stay here. The staff was welcoming and friendly; we're sad we didn't get to stay longer and enjoy the property. Denmark was actually experiencing a heat wave while we visited and they upgraded our room automatically into one with better air flow without us asking. For those coming from the U.S., I'll note that they spoke perfect English, so that is not a concern."
"This is a lovely place to rest and recover. We spent two days here and had a delicious breakfast and dinner. The hosts are very welcoming and provided us with a great room (the Writer's Room).
There is ample parking outside of the rooms and the shared communal area is accessible at night when you want to grab a late night cup of tea.
From the hotel we had a short drive to Mons Klint and visited MonIs on the way back.
If you're looking for a nice place to stay in/around Stege we would...
"We booked this hotel for the last two nights of a 10 trip through Denmark we had zero issues with any of our previous hotels. The main reason for booking this room was the dinning experience advertised on their website they make it sound like fabulous opertunity. The night before checking in I received an email welcoming us with a line stating dinner only served on Friday & Saturday and it's Tuesday, this was a huge surprise.
During our check in I mentioned this and was very quickly cut off...
