"Wonderful hotel and location! So much history. We stayed for 2 nights and loved every the experience, walked all over arts district and old town and waterfront. I needed to use my laptop for a few work meetings and WiFi works best in common areas, but they were all very quiet and comfortable, so it wasn’t an issue."
"Quite old, strange colors of everything. Brown sheets, off-white pillowcases, red velvet blanket. Metal outdoors furniture inside the room - black color. Everything looked old and mismatched. The TV is tiny. But the water pressure was really good. The water itself is a very good quality. Free parking available- that’s good."
"It was how you would consider a historic hotel to be. It was charming, but old. The plumbing didn't drain that well and there was some road noise from traffic on the street, but it was clean, super cute and walkable to everything in the downtown area. There was no hotel parking, but they give you a pass for street parking and we never had an issue finding parking close by. Would definitely stay there again if we were in the Arcata area."
"There was NOT an elevator to the second floor. The doors are open to the exterior - so safety concerns.
Parking was difficult and very limited.
The neighborhood leaves a lot to be desired."
"I stayed here so I could spend my days hiking in the state and national parks nearby. I liked that there were restaurants that I could eat at when I got back from hiking and I also liked that there was a gas station on site. I did not use the casino at all other than to walk through it to the restaurants. I would leave early in the morning and return at sundown, so I never really explored the grounds. I did not use the pool or fitness room. I would definitely stay here again."
"This was a very cute place to stay. The only thing I will say that it was cold and there is no central heater. Luckily we had extra blanket and honestly, it was the best sleep. I’ve had my whole road trip. The energy in the house was amazing and the view from our room was of the Ingomar club where the ocean in the back. The rooms were so cute and very Victorian style. Definitely will return there. The hosts were very nice. Be mindful that there is an option to have a private bathroom or you...
"The Victorian Inn out of another century is more than charming, it seeps into your bones, as does the town of Ferndale. Even the tall stairs that test you, reward you. The high ceilings, the artwork, the gracious staff, the antique room key. If only I could bring back the steam heater, instead of a dusty modern unit …"
"Loved this hotel! The historic architecture, crown moldings, and vintage lobby gave the property so much character that you just do not get in modern chain hotels.
The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff at the front desk gave us great local dinner recommendations. If you appreciate historic charm and do not mind a few vintage quirks, it is a wonderful place to stay!
I was sad there were no ghost encounters."
"I wanted to take a bath so I got a couple of the Clorox wipes to wipe down the bath tub. The first swipe I did came up with debris and hair. It grossed me out, so I decided to take a shower. The water lapped at my ankles because there was so much hair clogging the drain!! Then I dropped something behind the nightstand and found tons of dust there. Looked clean, but was only clean in the middle. "
"It was fine, house was cute but filled with Knick knacks which kind felt like staying at your grandmas house. Like look but don’t touch anything. Not sure what they meant by walk to old town, everything we did for food, etc was 8-10 minute drive. The streets have no street lights so walking anywhere at night was out. Worked as a base to visit redwoods np and tidal pools which is what we wanted"
"Beautiful views of Clam Beach and comfy beds! We stayed 3 nights and found the property well appointed. Beautiful hot tub and plenty of private outdoor space to enjoy; we particularly enjoyed the outdoor gas fire pit. This was our second stay there and we will definitely be back!"
