"We are vey puzzled about our 3 nights stay at Villa Carlo. The staff was very helpful and proactive. The minute we were getting to the breakfast restaurant, our cappuccino was prepared without us asking! This was the best breakfast amongst the 6 hotels we stayed at. A fantastic offering, so well presented, with an unbelievable number of choices for salty or sweet and fruits. The quality was well above standard. Even the cutlery and plates were fancy! The problem is really with the bathroom....

(Second place is finding a way to move around Sicily which lets you arrive on time.) The suite was decorated in antiques and thoughtfully stocked with such things as personal bug spray, water, creamers/tea, etc. The "free parking" was on the public streets and square but the owner assisted us in making sure we were not in the wrong place at the wrong time. The continental breakfast delivered to the suite was nice. The public areas were a little worn and the elevator was a little scary... but the suite was in great shape. A/C was only in the...

"The hotel has a great location, but bad management. The place is wrecked, everything is rusted and VERY old. The double beds are actually 2 single mattresses, so if you are a couple prepare to fall between the gap. There is no Wi-Fi in rooms or anywhere near them. You have to go to reception, and it's limited even at hours with no one around. Took me 15 mins each time to download emails. The staff are all really unfriendly/not helpful even if you speak Italian. You can't pay with cash but...
