I booked a family room, which seemed to be vacate for a long time. There are many hairs on the bed sheets. Even spider nests were build-up on the corner of the wall. "

We phoned ahead as we're running late - which turned out to be a wise thing as reception closes at 8pm. When we arrived, we found the staff to be friendly, they spoke English (which saved us from using our pigeon German and/or bad sign language) and we were given directions to our room which was in one of the annex buildings. "This is an older charming hotel situated next to the water that surrounds Lubeck. Because of the age of the building, there was no air conditioning. Our room got stuffy at night. We faced a busy street, so did not want traffic noise and kept the door to the balcony closed. I suspect it would be very warm in the heat of summer. But staff were very pleasant and accommodating. "The hotel is perfectly located for the old city. We had the Deluxe Room and all the details were perfect - bathrobes, slippers, two sinks, huge shower and bath with luxurious toiletries. The decor was modern with a hint of tradition. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We could hear birds in the morning and the bells of the cathedral. Wonderful sunset over the city skyline. A truly luxurious, indulgent and relaxing stay"

The pillow on the bed was very soft and thin, we asked for two extra pillows. But we got a blanket instead. :) Otherwise everything was good."

"Ein Aufenthalt im Hotel Strengliner Mühle ist ein Erlebnis. Ich war schon mehrmals im Hotel und war jedesmal zufrieden. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet und immer sauber. Das Frühstück ist reichhaltig, und abends gibt es auch ein gutes Essen im Restaurant. So bald man ins Hotel tritt merkt man die gute Stimmung. Das Personal ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich komme ganz sicher zurück."
