"No hot water and when we arrived (it had clearly been an issue as we heard other guests talk about it) no one mentioned it. Someone from our party went to ask reception and they were very dismissive. The next day still no hot water, I understand they couldn’t have fixed it there and then but they could if been proactive is telling us and offering to try and fix it."

"We had superior rooms on the second floor with wonderful views. They were clean and comfortable, though the room service was a little careless. The second floor is accessed via 2 long stair cases. Quite an effort for 2 old codgers with cases. Staff were helpful and polite. This is more like a large pub with rooms, though popular with the locals and always busy, probably due to reasonable prices. All in all ,a good experience. Love Ross."

Restaurant has excellent dishes at good prices and the bar serves a good range of drinks again at good prices. A Continental Breakfast is included and there is no cooked breakfast option. The only drawback is the lack of a lift and one or two floors are a bit unveven but to be expected at over 400 years old. "

It is situated a couple of miles outside Hereford, in a quiet countryside setting, so is nice to unwind at. "The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The staff were helpful. Parking was in front of the hotel, off the main street. The village had a few shops and a large town nearby. The hotel has a river at the bottom of the grounds which was lovely to sit near."
