"I visited during the off season, when Hotel Melissa was one of the few places to stay in the area. There is very little to do or see in Torre Melissa, but the weather was lovely and warm, the beach is beautiful and completely empty. "The hotel is very well located on the outskirts of Catanzaro; it's on abusy street, but the windows keep out traffic noise effectively. The hotel restaurant offers a small but very good menu. We had some car trouble and the hotel staff were incredibly helpful in taking of it. Highly recommended."

"Personale non attento a quello che succede in giro per l hotel come ad esempio urla e corse continue dei bambini per i corridoi delle camere anche fino all' 1 di notte bussavano alle porte e scappavano una maleducazione mai vista per non parlare dello scarico del bagno della camera vicino che praticamente avevo sopra la testa e le persone della camera affianco portavano la bicicletta in camera e io dovevo spostarmi nel corridoio per farli passare possibile che l hotel non avesse un altro posto...

I had a lovely conversation with the local fishermen who were emptying their catch while repairing their nets on the beach in front of the hotel. The hotel, which has one of the only "upscale" restaurants in the area was packed on a Friday night. The food was delicious and fresh, while the service was great and the servers friendly. The town is only a few minutes drive to nearby Torre Ciro' and about 25 minutes from its mountain top sister, Ciro', both of which are pretty and worth the effort. "
