"Hotel had clearly been refurbished recently, everything was sparkling, fresh painted walls and doors, spotless. We just stayed one night and was a lovely place from which to visit north beaches l the only negative was the pair of extremely strong air freshener sticks in the bedroom which were overwhelming, so we placed them outside the bedroom overnight. "

It's quirky and there are elements which are tired (the wallpaper, for example, in places) but the position is superb and if you can get a room with a balcony overlooking the beach (we had no.8, "Cape Horn") it's unbeatable. "Fabulous setting with easy access to beach, local saltwater swimming pool and aquarium all within 200 metres. The kitchen is small with hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and dishwasher (no oven or grill). Plenty of crockery and cutlery in excellent condition and an assortment of pans. Bedding provided in sealed packages, beds very comfortable and clean. We had 2 bathrooms, one with shower and one with bath. Lovely playground on-site. There is plenty of storage space...

"No frills, good value room which was perfectly acceptable. Good choice for optional breakfast and we parked in the hotel’s car park for free. Easy 10 minute walk to the centre and hotel had its own restaurant. Good option if you want to catch the ferry."
