"The rooms were large, the layout of the property was quaint. Can't beat the price, amazing value and I felt completely safe. Jon took care of us, great conversation, authentic, the meals were wonderful and pool service too. We stayed here as our hub to get around to other local places, great place to relax. I took this photo in Messinia, Greece in summer 2016. It's of Voidokilia Beach and it's surroundings. Voidokilia Beach is on the Peloponnese peninsula and it was the most picturesque beach that I visited during that Greek trip, which was almost exclusively in Messinia. On that mountain is Nestor's Cave and above this are the ruins of a 13th-century Frankish castle (Old Navarino or Palaiokastro). Look closely and you will see :). I didn't get to walk up there. It was brutally hot that day and I spent most of the time at the beach. But, I did make time for some hiking. Near where I took this photo there was a lot of medieval or ancient ruins. Near those beautiful rocks. I had to be careful when walking on them, but it was worth it!

Good value

"Literally right next to road going through this small town ( if road noise bothers you). Nice lobby with restaurants literally behind it and market across street. Inexpensive stay for nights sleep on the road exploring. Host didn’t even ask for my Id just Gave me the key! Later he was not at the desk but found him sitting at the restaurant out back and was my host there too. Large bathroom was nice. Fridge in room and tea provided "

"Golden Sun Hotel is in a truely gorgeous location. It is a delightfully quiet, restful place to swim (in both ocean and pool), read, enjoy the company of froends and marvel at the beautful view. The staff were pleasant to interact with and very welcoming. The facility is dated but in good condition and very well cared for. We very much enjoyed our brief stay and would enjoy a return visit!"
