"The rooms are spacious but unfortunately the windows are only made of wood meaning you can hear everything happening in the alley. The breakfast is pretty awesome and everything is walking distance. The East African Slavery Market Exhibit is right behind the hotel and the beach is only a 20 minute walk. Overall would recommend. "

"Very well located. Nice and unique decoration of the house. Rooms are very pretty. Staff is very kind. Service is good. The manager pay attention to any claim. Breakfast was good. There is a fridge, tea and coffee in the share areas.We enjoyed our stay!! I would just recommend to change the beds upstairs, as they are very hard and uncomfortable ( downstair our bed was better). =)"

"We stayed here at the end of 21 days of safari and then a few days in Stone Town and it was the greatest two days of the trip. It's near the airport, so it's perfect to cap off a trip. The room was steps from a small private beach. It's not near anything but it was gorgeous and spotless and luxurious, which is exactly what we needed before the grueling trip home."

"Great staff, very clean room, well presented TV didn't work - only 1 Arabic channel Location - was not aware that could not get a car up to the premises and had to walk (not an issue in itself but would have been if I was with a suitcase & 1 or 2 other bags) as it is in the heart of the old town streets"

Located on VERY narrow cobblestone street with ONLY motorcycle access. NO taxi or car service directly to hotel. MUST walk 5 - 10 minutes from street through crowded souq/market area to reach hotel. However, you can call the hotel and they can send someone out to the street area in front of the market entrance to help carry your bags and...

"Really authentic building. The building is old and the owners have tried to keep the originality of the building by keeping original features . Its in the winding streets of the old town , so no vehicles except scooters allowed. The staff are great , everyone smiles and are so helpful. The room we stayed in Lamore had a outside shower on a balcony , seems strange, but it was very private and great to have a shower outside"

"A wonderful eco resort! Cute bungalow's with compost toilets. We slept with all the windows and doors open to enjoy the ocean breeze. staff and food fantastic. Good snorkelling. Coconut crab night walk was fascinating. We climbed up the lighthouse and walked around the island on low tide - saw heaps of starfish and crabs! We also relaxed in the swinging day beds and read our books. 4 nights was a lovely amount of time if you can…but lots just came for 1 night."

"Wonderful architecture and ambience. Older building, no elevator but stairs. Muslim environment but not overly so. Good solid breakfast. If going out after dark travel in a group or request a taxi to the hotspots of town. I love this place but if you want shiny and new with hot and cold running staff, it's not for you. If you want to feel like you are on Stone Town, almost like a local, this is the place to be."
