"Here’s a Hotels.com-style review with a slightly more detailed, balanced tone:
Disappointing stay with major comfort and service issues
Our stay started off on a concerning note, as we were asked at check-in to leave a positive review in exchange for free sauna access. We were required to post the review immediately—before even receiving our room key—which felt misleading and unprofessional.
The room itself was visually nice, and the beds were comfortable. However, the air conditioning did...
"Breakfast was awesome--very large buffet of excellent choices. Front desk staff and breakfast staff were very helpful and friendly, with front desk giving tourist info and speaking fluent English. Two downsides: the bathroom, as mentioned in other reviews, is quirky. The shower is on the wall above the toilet, with no shower curtain or shower enclosure. "The room was fine and overall the stay was pleasant. However, the parking situation was very misleading. We booked with “included parking,” only to find out upon arrival that this meant street parking, subject to availability. There were no spaces, so we had to drive around the neighborhood late at night searching for parking. Very frustrating, especially after a long journey. The parking policy should be made much clearer when booking."
"Chambre spacieuse pour 4 personnes avec un grand lit et un canapé convertible pas très confortable pour dormir.
Chambre plutôt calme.
Hôtel à 10mn à pied du centre de la ville.
Parking souterrain disponible ainsi que quelques places à l’extérieur.
Petit déjeuner à commander à l’avance, et du coup assez minimaliste… 3 croissant, dh jus d’orange et une boisson chaude… pas de confiture, de pain ou de yaourt.
Personnel gentil et serviable."
"Excellent location. We had a big room with aircondition. The host was very nice and service minded. It made our stay in Veliko Tarnovo even better. We would love to go back."
"We arrived about 7pm to be told we had no room even though I had a confirmation of the booking. Was repeatedly hung up on and my calls also ignored. They also ignored hotels.com when they called to also help. Veliko was very busy and we would've been without a room for the night had a local old lady not overheard our problems and offered to help us find a bed for the night - thankfully she spoke English! Do not recommend as this is totally unacceptable service and very worrying for people...
