"Bahia del sole was under renovation, they accommodated us at the sister property Mercure Hotel. That was a bit more updated. We had a great balcony view that overlooked the docks. Beautiful property, friendly staff as well. Very convenient. Taxi from port to hotel was reasonable."

Bad things: 1) there is a ZTL at the end of the street right where hotel is sitting (arguably within the ZTL) DO NOT DRIVE ON THIS YOU WILL BE TICKETED LATER BY MAIL. 2) the beds were extremely uncomfortable- they are old spring mattresses and honestly difficult to sleep on without pain. "Hotel is about 20miles from the main tourist attractions in Rome. Room was clean, basic setup to sleep and shower, nothing fancy. Staff was VERY nice and accommodating. Breakfast buffet was light. A/C worked fine. Bus to the local train station stops right in front of hotel. To get from Massimino to Rome is about a ten minute bus ride to the hote then about an hour train ride into central Rome."
