"Very cute stay. The room was nice and private with everything we needed. The curtains did not really do much to prevent the midnight sun from coming directly into the sleeping area but we made do by hanging some extra coats, towels and sheets to block the direct sun. "

"Great family vacation stopover spot. Very clean. There’s a small utility room with a clothesline to dry your suit if coming from an outdoor hot spring visit. Know that most rentals in the area have hot spring hot water systems that will smell like well water, not something that can be helped to my knowledge. Just saying to point out it isn’t an issue to be concerned with. There is a pretty full kitchen as pictured and picnic table out front. The grocery store in town closes early and opens late, so get your provisions early if that’s your plan. There’s a great seafood restaurant next door if you miss the timing. The walk into town from the unit along a small waterfall stream and park was really pleasant and makes the area feel much more walkable. If you are planning on seal watching in the area, many of the roads are not paved as of June 2024, so plan on double the time your gps claims. Many of the spots are closed due to tourists scaring the seals away, so do some research first. If pointing out anything to improve, the unit’s bedroom has two twin bed frames that can spread apart some if using as a single bed. Many European flats have two twins as a single queen/full, but often with one big frame to keep them from drifting apart."

"Best guesthouse experience in Iceland. The location - by waterfalled cliffs and the bay - is beautiful, in an entire country of beautiful locations. The guesthouse itself functions also as an art space, which you can see in the entry hallway as well as in the design / decor of the place. The service is excellent - Thora and Sumar are wonderful hosts (and great gardeners) and Hubert was exceptionally welcoming. Also, notably eco-friendly - e.g., the food they serve they grow in their own greenhouse and/or source it locally, they compost, etc. Was the most peaceful time I had in Iceland and would absolutely stay here again."

"Vogur Country Lodge is in a very remote part of Iceland. The area is stunningly beautiful and this hotel is a perfect place to stay as a gateway to the West and West Fjords. The hotel is clean, comfortable and well staffed by Constantin, who prepared incredible meals. The hotel has a hot tub and a sauna. It's a lovely place to stay. I hope I get a chance to come back!!"
