"I had booked a tour of Sicily and Malta but wanted to arrive a day early to recover from the flight. I was exhausted from the travel so simply crashed when I got to the hotel. I did do a little walk around in the morning in Catania before checkout time. The hotel is perfectly situated just outside of the historic core of the city but all of the major sights are close by and it is very walkable. The room was quite comfortable and the breakfast was first rate. Though I made a wrong turn on my way...

It was lovely to have the pool at our disposal, and the spa would have been wonderful had it been open.The bed was comfortable but the room had a musty smell and there seemed to be mold spores between the shower tiles. It was nice to have a restaurant on site, although a bit overpriced, but the pasta was fresh and delicious."

"Loved the room, had a fridge, comfortable bed, lovely layout. Very small balcony but enough for us to sit by at the end of the day. There is a pretty courtyard, and outside area upstairs to also sit. Good breakfast. Again decor lovely as it is in all areas. Very helpful and friendly staff. Location was brilliant. Would stay again and recommend."

"The property was dirty with rusted shower head, broken lights, dirty shower tray, cigarettes in the toilet, marks on wall, open roof hatch, broken door and marked bedding. The room smelt strongly of smoke and the windows were dirty. We did not stay and had to find alternative accommodation. The bed could not be used as it was so dirty and the shower unsafe. I have stayed in basic hotels before but this was dirty, smelly and unsafe."
