"We enjoyed our stay at Sorell Hotel Arabelle Bern in July 2026. The hotel is located conveniently near public transportation (2 minute walk to bus stop for a quick 5 minute ride to Bern Train Station) and close to local shops/cafes. The room size was adequate and clean and the hotel provided a floor fan to help with the high temps (we were there during a heat wave) since there is no A/C in the rooms. The continental breakfast was delicious and fresh and all hotel staff were helpful and friendly....

"The hotel—more like a lodge—is located right across from a lovely (and popular) public swimming area on Lake Thun that had a food truck selling snacks and drinks. It is surrounded by dense foliage which was flowering and alive with insects (great sign of environmental health) when I visited in June. "The hotel was just alright, still a budget option. The advertised air conditioning is not controlled in your room but centrally by the hotel. Room was still warm and they duscourage opening the windows at night and do not have fans available. No coffee, fridge or hand towels in the room. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you want a better room then try the adjacent Novotel."

"Due to my late arrival and early departure, I did not interact directly with staff, only through messaging. However, they were VERY attentive and super helpful. The room and facility were clean and organized. It’s not the newest place in the world, but is very well kept and quite charming. I had absolutely not complaints. With the recent heat wave, the fan that was in the room was a welcome treat! Thanks for a very pleasant stay!!"
