"This vineyard or Quinta as it's called in the Douro Valley is an excellent place to stay if you're touring this area. We like it's proximity to Pinhao and touring the various nearby vineyards. We enjoyed the dinner and wine tasting offered at Morgadio de Calcada. The friendliness of the hotel staff, specially the owner, Manuel, is greatly appreciated. "Loved the quaint Casa da Roda. The property is in need of new carpet and paint in the common areas. But the room was nice and clean and quiet. The refrigerator didn’t work (it was plugged in but the one lonely beer and one juice in it were warm and sad). The breakfast was great! Didn’t get to enjoy the indoor pool because they charge extra for it (surprising). Only the outdoor pool was included. I would think they would include the main indoor facilities and just charge for treatments like most...
