I booked the superior room for the guest, thinking that it will be of the highest standard rooms available. What a disappointment for our guest and embarrassment for us as the company that made the booking. Smelly room and shattered glass above shower. "I arrived early afternoon and was checked in immediately. I had forgotten to load my South Africa map on to my TomTom GPS before leaving the UK and the lady of the house helped me do this on her own computer for which I will be eternally grateful. room was nice with balcony with table and chairs and river view. Bathroom had a tub - wonderful- and there were plenty of electrical points to charge phone etc. I walked to the nearby Quay Street at dusk to the recommended brew pub where I had a couple...

"Downtown area, a bit rundown, but wide street and Hotel is situated close to Bars and restaurants, there is a bottle shop next door and so could be a sound issue (no double glazing). Air-conditioning was excellent, one of the best I have had outside of USA.Hotel is a bit dated, but staff are friendly and helpful, only bed issue was it was 2 singles pushed together but made up as 2 singles, so a bit cramped."

"The hotel is well situated but the rooms need attention. Shower handles broken. Taps not secure to the basin No aircon. Thank goodness it was overcast and cool. Fan was ok. Beds were too small. King would have been better TV is working but has minimal channels and the screen has multiple lines so part of the TV is not clear.....thank goodness we don't watch much TV. Could do with a repaint and overall maintenance is required. Asked for towels at 2pm, had to ask for towels again at 6pm Wouldn't rush to book again, unless desperate."
