"Great location, I’ve stayed here many times over the past few years. Hotel offers free car parking. And great views of Jubilee Campus.
The Flexi card (to access the room using my phone) didn’t work. So I had to get a physical card. But other than that - a straightforward visit.
Sometimes noise from the atrium did echo around the building - but it wasn’t a huge problem"
"The hotel grounds and rooms are very neat and tidy but the rooms are bare and show signs of water intrusion, water collecting bucket in the corridor is a recent sign of ingress. The dinning room and breakfast was very pleasant with the usual good breakfast fare.
They now run a self check in and out system which is very cold and unwelcoming as you don’t have the personal touch"
"I stayed friday to Saturday night you will not sleep if your at the front of the hotel looking out over the street shouting screaming people till earlier morning."
"Very dated and run down hotel, rooms needing an urgent refurbishment. There is a pub with a function room that are part of the hotel, where loud music continues playing until quite late.
Location is ok, breakfast had the very basic and while some hot options were ok, others were very underwhelming.
Overall, there’s way better options at similar night rates. Wouldn’t recommend."
"We were staying here because mum was in hospital nearby and we live four hours away. Staff were very friendly about last minute extension of our stay. Rooms are kept clean as long as you remember to put the little sign out, otherwise staff are very helpful if you need anything."
"On arrival at the Holiday inn, we booked our car in straight away, which was only £5 for the night. We then checked in with the front desk who explained where our room was, we needed to pay a deposit which wasn’t mentioned on booking, but was ok.
We went to the room which was spotless & very well designed with the most amazing shower, it was huge…..
The bed was massive, made with a quilt and 2 pillows each. The curtains were sealed down the side so when closed there was no outside light coming...
"Good location for walking into Matlock Bath, 20 minute easy flat walk. Hotel has an on site Indian restaurant and bar but we weren’t aware so didn’t eat there as we had booked somewhere in town. Staff very friendly and helpful. Parking was good on hotel premises. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. It’s not luxury but a good hotel in a good location with parking which is difficult to find in the area."
