TJ is an engaging host, with a wealth of local knowledge and the sophistication of a world traveler. The house is a perfect example of 1920s LA style (it could be a movie set), decorated with an eye for the exotic and comfortable. The views of the LA basin from the garden are expansive. The local streets are quiet (and excellent for a morning run)."

"Hotel location is very good. Place is relatively clean. However, there are signs of poor management. 1. Check in staff was not friendly at all. No greetings. Nothing. 2. Housekeeping staff knocked early in the morning. Asked them to come back in an hour but they never did. No room cleaning, no change of towels. 3. I reserved 2 rooms since I was traveling with family. Check in 4pm and couldn’t even get the 2 rooms on the same floor. 4. I had late check out and when I returned after lunch at 1pm, my room keys didn’t work anymore and had to go back to lobby to fix the key-just so inconvenient. 5. Bed mattresses too soft. Time for new ones. 6. No perks for platinum elite members. Disappointing."

"We stayed here because of its location being near the Pasadena convention center. We were so impressed by how welcoming the staff was. They presented us with water bottles at check in and let us know all about our amenities right away, including the complimentary breakfast. The onsite restaurant and close by restaurant made it easy to find a place to eat for lunch and dinner. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. We loved that you needed a key to access the floors in the hotel for added security. Great stay!"

"Very reasonable hotel/motel on the southeast side of old town Pasadena. They are in the process of remodeling right now. My room was remodeled and was in excellent shape. They are redoing or installing a pool right now. There is no breakfast at this time but apparently they’ve had it in the past. You are within walking distance of some good restaurants and a Whole Foods market. Parking onsite including an underground garage which I didn’t use since my room was on the ground floor with a parking space right in front of it. The area felt fairly safe and I walked around plenty"
