"Lovely hotel. We were on the top floor and there's no lift, but there was a lovely house keeper who carried my massive suitcase up and back down the stairs for me. I sprained my ankle whilst staying there and he even offered to take my suitcase to the train station with me! Wish I'd got his name. Room was lush, breakfast was fairly basic, but hit the spot."
"The hotel is in the perfect location for anyone who likes to travel on foot, a short downhill walk from the train station and an even shorter walk of two blocks to the lake, excellent restaurants and cafés. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing us with a city map and free passes for public transportation. This was very helpful for taking the cable car uphill to the train station"
"We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and the view from the window was absolutely amazing — overlooking the lake. Waking up to such a beautiful view was a wonderful experience.
The only downside was that the hotel does not have an elevator. We were given a room on the top floor, and carrying our suitcases up the stairs was quite difficult.
Apart from that, everything was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our stay. We would definitely recommend this...
"What a gem of a place! It's run by two folks who clearly put a lot of care, attention, and hospitality knowledge into the experience. I loved the location which was across from a bus stop that runs right into town, next to a grocery store, and within short walking distance of the lovely Ascona waterfront. It was also a good location for morning runs. The breakfast was good and while I didn't try the restaurant, it had lively crowds and the food looked delicious. Highly recommend!"
"We loved our stay at Hotel Muralto and highly recommend it. The property is conveniently located near public transportation (a bus stop right out the door and train station a 5 minute walk). It's a 10 minute walk to old town Locarno, shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is well maintained, the room was spotless and all staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was fresh and delicious, the air conditioning was welcome and refreshing (we were in Switzerland...

"Well first problem I have been double billed once by expedia and then second by the hotel. Took over an hour waiting for entry to the room. The Wifi didn’t work. the television didn’t work and the assigned parking wasn’t assigned. The room was very clean and the appliances state of the art. The restaurant was great and the breakfast was excellent. I didn’t enjoy not having a person to speak with and every response was that they would pass in on to the local staff but nobody was there."
"An incredible location with breathtaking views. Just be aware that you’ll either need to park at the bottom of the mountain and take the funicular, or park farther away and walk to the apartment. This wasn’t a problem for us and was absolutely worth it, but it’s helpful to know in advance, especially if you have heavy luggage or mobility concerns."
