"I had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Monaco in Armenia, Colombia. The hotel is in an excellent location, right on a pedestrian walkway with plenty of shops, restaurants, and other businesses just steps away. There is a grocery store, dollar store, and several places to eat nearby, and a shopping mall is only a few blocks away. It was very convenient to just walk out of the hotel and have almost everything I needed close by.
The service was excellent and available 24 hours a day. The hotel staff...

From my perspective it was a classic “bait and switch”. I ended up getting the room I reserved for three nights instead of the five I paid for. "
"First off, the location on Hotels.com is wrong, as of this writing. As others said, not only is it up a steep driveway, it is about a 5-10 walk up a very dark dirt road from the edge of town. Secondly, it is not a hostel, it is a Finca... meaning a family house. As a result there are young kids crying early in the morning. Aside from that it is a lovely Finca, if that is what you are looking for and don't mind/are able to make a small climb. "
"The staff was fine and we had no issues with the customer service, the (3) issues are regarding the hotel itself.
Bugs. We kept the windows closed at all times but a few times when we came back I would have to deal with a spider or the bug the size of a medium cockroach.
The shower. While the shower itself is nice and has hot water, the issue is the shower head isn't movable so you shoulder keeps bumping into the wall and it's very uncomfortable.
Paper thing walls. If you're going to book...
