"Rated 4 stars because of how inexpensive the motel is and that the water slide alone provided a lot of entertainment for my 5 and 3 year olds. It’s also the most convenient location for visiting Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mtn national parks. That being said, this motel is not as well maintained as the average hotel. They do a good job of ensuring the rooms are clean and if you need anything the ladies at the front office are helpful. However, there are some simple things they could do to...

"The Lodge front desk staff and bar staff are kind and friendly. Be able to use stairs as there is no elevator. It’s an old, historic place. Close to Cloudcroft shops and restaurants, but you might want to drive as the Lodge is up a steep incline from the shops."
