"The hotel has been recently renovated and feels brand new. Both the lobby and the rooms are clean and very well-kept. However, because it is an old building, there is a noticeable sewage smell near the stairwell and elevator entrance. Management tries to mask this with a heavy perfume spray from the lobby to the rooms.
Honestly, I would still give the property 5 stars despite the smell, but I have to deduct stars due to the frustrating AC system. It features an aggressive energy-saving sensor...
"We stayed one night on Oct 1st, nice and clean hotel, helpful staff.
The only thing that I didn't like is that they changed the room before we arrived as we were 3 people. I booked a queen and 2 twins room online and they changed it to one queen and one twin. Me and my son are big guys and it was not comfortable for us. They let us do 1 hour late check out instead. Next time I will make sure they don't change the room as I paid more for the bigger room."
"Person at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful, we had an early checkout and couldn't go to breakfast so they gave us a to go bag and they also scheduled our taxi for us in the morning to take us to the airport"
"Very good location. ....safe and secure. Walking distance to almost everything. Lots of restaurants close by.
Room was good size, clean and updated. Wide staircases, outdated elevator system but for a 6 story hotel it did not cause a huge impact.
We really our stay and would recommend it to other people."
"The rooms were spacious & very clean. Housekeeping was amazing daily. The breakfast was excellent with many options. Staff were accommodating & helpful. The one let down is that they charge extra for use of the jacuzzi. I feel like it should be included with the prices they charge for the room."
"Very responsive during business hours (in Italy) on Expedia messaging. Great English, great service. VERY SMALL ENTRY DOOR WITH LITTLE SIGNAGE. Just go off the address number and you will find it. Not a traditional lobby like other hotels, but had little to know effect on our stay."
"Beautiful property with wonderful hospitality provided by staff. Breakfast was delicious with multiple buffet offerings.
Staff was very helpful with directions to various locations as well as great suggestions for dining.
We had a very short stay at the River Palace but we intend to return there for a longer stay."
