"Three House Hotel deserves more than five stars! Our room was an apartment rather than just a hotel room, and it was perfect. The rooftop pool, deck and bar was great with comfortable seating, a very nice casual yet elegant decor and an incredible view of Funchal and the waterfront. "This is an amazing place to go for a relaxing getaway! The host was so amazing and the place was incredibly clean. It is about a 30 minute walk from town so you will get your steps in if you do not bring a car. I will definitely be coming back here next time I am in Madeira!"

"Check in was alright and stay was good until check out when the owner was on site. I believed the check out was 12pm, but actually 11. Fortunately we had all bags ready and at 11;15am were told to leave immediately. Took literally 7 minutes for us to leave the room, no guests waiting to enter. Then we asked owner could we please eat some food before we left in the downstairs common area. He replied rudely "No" check out at 11 means out the door off the premises completely. Strange since he knew...

"My sister and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Flame Tree Hotel, It was small ,very compact and clean and tidy. The food was good and home cooked ...and generous portions. The staff were extremely helpful and interested in what their guests were doing and how they had enjoyed their days. I had a slight accident on our last night and the staff deAlt with it efficiently and with compassion... All in all a lovely little hotel. "

The views are great, the salt water pool with wave crashing in, the blow hole and black sand beach 750meters to the east were fun.
