1. Hostel 165

Retiro

"I stayed here in 2025 and I must say that I saw a huge improvement across the board at Hostel 165. It seems like some renovations may have been done. The staff were quite attentive and regularly cleaned the bathrooms, restocking toilet paper etc. There’s no longer a stove in the kitchen so there’s a lot less activity in a small area. The fridges are still overflowing and need to be cleaned down. Overall, I do recommend that Hostel 165 is a good option when staying in this area of Madrid."

Top Retiro Hotel Reviews

SLEEP’N Atocha – B Corp Certified

Madrid Centro

10/10 Excellent

Fantastic hotel in great location . First time staying at a Sleep N and it’s a great concept. They have a quirky modern design with emphasis on customer service and the environment . Hotel contacted me day before to ask what type of room I would like and arrival time. The rooms are VERY small but clean and comfortable. A very nice buffet breakfast available. Staffs are very friendly and helpful and great location in Madrid.

Artrip Hotel

The outside of the hotel looks plain and dry but the rooms are unique. The interior is an interesting mix of modern and old. Many "old" elements were preserved (bricks, wooden beams and heavy metal). The bathroom floor is actually teak. It's centrally located but still a bit off the beaten track. Close to Madrid Atocha and just a block away from the Lavapies metro. Walkable to the Calle Mayor and Plaza Mayor area. Nice tapas bars in the neighborhood (especially O Pazo de Lugo). The...

Great Stay at a Great B and B. Everyone from the owner of the property to his staff was great. Room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. EZ check in and out. We found the location made it very EZ to travel around the city. City Bus picks ups and drops you at the just in front of the B and B. 1/1/2 block walk to the Subway that allowed you to get to just about any district of the city. We were also impressed by the little touch's the owner's wife had made to the room, such a welcome...

ITC Mora formerly known as ITC Mora by Soho Boutique

Could not dream of a better location: across from Royal Botanical Garden, 5 minutes walk from the Prado and any kind of restaurant imaginable, less than 10 minutes walk from main train station (Atocha). Very good hotel with friendly staff (upgraded my room without my asking), fine cafe, Only reason for less than perfect rating is electrical systems in rooms are a problem: nowhere to plug in phone charger near bed, outlets don’t work much no matter lights on/off, and tv stopped working after 1st...

We arrived to the hotel on July 1st not knowing what was going on in Madrid. As we arrived, there were no Taxies traveling to downtown. We called the hotel and Amarr calmed us down and explained to us how to arrive via "city train". We faced some inconsiderate people pushing my 76 y/o parents and not carrying for anything but their "festival". As we arrived to the hotel HOT, EXHAUSTED, and hungry... Amarr and Irene were the ones to welcome us to the hotel. They immediately jumped into action...
