"Was a fantastic stay with friendly staff who looked after us. Absolutely one of the best stays on an hotel. Food also was excellent. Both me and my wife would recommend the Gateway."

"Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile."

"The Inn looks like it is on it's last legs. The other 3 pubs in Hawes all were doing a roaring trade over the hot bank holiday , but the Board closed around 7.30pm , had no food and very few clients. The breakfast in the Cockett next door was very average. Never seen green scrambled eggs before....they were rank and inedible."

"Very tidy and cozy. The view is amazing !"

"Excellent accommodation in a lovey area . "

"The breakfast was stunning! Beautifully cooked with quality ingredients. "

"Compact , well equipped property in the centre of the village and ideal for walking or car trips."

"Pris står slet ikke i forhold til den oplevede standard."

"Lovely accommodation, with peaceful surroundings. Very well stocked with equipment and spotlessly clean. Excellent communication with friendly people."

"Gorgeous house in the heart of Kirkby Stephen. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The weather was particularly bad when we came up so it was the perfect place for us to stay as it was so cosy. We cooked a couple of evenings in and had no problems doing it. The bed was so comfy and the shower was lovely and hot too! We spent a few days visiting the Iron Forge for drinks that took us about 2 minutes to get there. We also had their pre-book able meal cooked on a hot stone that was amazing....

"The property location was great, in a very quiet area. It was a great base to visit other places in the area. The hosts were great, they live next door so are are accessible if required. Really recommend."

"House not cleaned properly, plug socket in middle bedroom hanging off wall, tv aerial cables hanging out wall in kitchen at fridge, leaking radiator in kitchen - reported to owner/management company on day 1 of holiday - no response. Had to put newspapers down to dry floor up, wall crumbling in corner of kitchen, paint flaking off numerous walls & in poor state of decoration. Have stayed in many holiday cottages which were all of much better standard - I would not recommend this cottage."
