"The hotel location allow you tu visit the the historic center by foot although there other options. Very easy to get around, many places to eat and shops"

The property is a vintage hotel look but could use some updating in rooms with some fresh carpeting and maybe some repairs to some of the walls. Overall very clean. Staff was very helpful. "My stay at Hotel Vice Rei was wonderful! If you are good on foot, everything is within a walkable distance. Walking to Rua da Cedofeita and Rua do Rosário takes around 15–20 minutes (10–15 if you're a quick walker like me).
Just like other reviewers said, the hotel is a bit outdated, but that doesn't take away from its charm; it brings a warm, cozy vibe. Just be mindful of a bit of noise from the pipes/toilets.

"Overall: I liked it. It was perfect for what I needed. Generally clean and had everything I needed. I would stay again.
- Bathroom - logically laid out (big points for this) and generally clean. Didn’t have to twist around to find the tp dispenser. Shower was just a shower (nice because I usually don’t use a tub on destination travel anyway).
- Amenities - There was an in room hair dryer locked to the room wall (not bathroom, so ideal when traveling with multiple people). There was a water...
"The room and the bed are small. Think dorm room. No decoration and not much room to put anything. Just a little capsule. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water was hot. It is in a good downtown location. No amenities as far as I could tell. There was a good breakfast."
