"We stayed here during MotoGP weekend at Motegi. While the hotel clean and safe, it had extremely dated decor/furniture and a very strange atmosphere. We didn't see anyone else at the hotel the first day, which gave it a very odd haunted feeling. If you are affected by aesthetics/design, you may find this hotel unnerving."

"The facility is clean, close to Tochigi station and Kuranomachi Promenade river walk. I was assigned to the room next to the smoking room but the staff helped me to transfer to other room. "

"The shower bracket was broken so had to hold the nozzle. Great water pressure though. Our window was locked shut so no fresh air. In our friends room the window opened normally. The sole staff member could not speak english which we did expect from Expedia who promote the hotel."

There was no noticeable odor in the room, but might not be the same for all. And they’re having trouble with the hot spring source so there’s no onsen water to the room balcony baths (my main reason for booking), and their regular hot spring will be sometimes closed. "We absolutely loved our short stay at Nikko Turtle Inn. The area is so beautiful, and it was convenient to all the Nikko attractions (we had a rental car). The property was adorably retro (but comfortable), the staff was delightful, and the on-site onsen are private. We are heavily tattooed, and finding an onsen that allows us in is not easy. We appreciate that it was not a problem!! We would absolutely stay at Nikko Turtle Inn again!! "
