"This is a basic hotel which was reflected in the price when compared to others but for one night was what we needed. Convenient for access to the motorway & on to gelsenkirchen where we were heading. A few criticisms: 1 - for €12 the breakfast was basic. 2 - parking is tricky particularly for larger vehicles when the car park is nearly full. 3 - when we used the shower water flooded under the door for the shower cubicle & on to the floor of the bathroom."

"I loved the historical nature of this hotel. It was formerly an orphanage and it has been restored to reflect that. The rooms are small, basically the width of a king size bed, (which was gorgeously comfortable), though there was a shower and sink in the room as well. The toilets are down the hall. The rooms are dead quiet, as you are encased by thick walls. There are a few plaques around the hotel to tell of its former life. "I stayed for one night and visited the Christmas market before I had to catch a plane early the next morning. Room was small but all was great. The hotel is right downtown, great location, small rooms but clean and breakfast was great! Available rooms are either with toilet and shower or some have the toilet down the hallway.
