"Great value for money. Standard hostel amenities..don't expect anything found at a premium hotel. Once you've got the expectation right everything is just superb. Literally metres from the waterfront, everything is within walking distance including the Snow Centre if you are skiing and catching the ski bus for the Remarkables or the Coronets. The community kitchen is my favourite part of the hostel with sweeping view of the lake and the Southern Alps."
"Overall a really nice location, great amenities and great suite. The only things keeping it from a 5 star review were that the reception staff were not present or available during opening hours when I had to hand in my key card and that there was a heavy rain storm while we were there and water started to leak into the room through window frames. They did provide us with extra towels and promised someone would look into it ASAP and nothing serious happened as a result of it...just a possible...
"I was a bit sceptical staying at a backpackers with my 15 year old daughter. Things have changed in the last 30 years! The twin room was cozy and private with very comfortable beds. "Nice, clean place and close to the lake for walks and town for shopping. Responsive host. Ground floor room did suffer from noise transmitted from room above and creaking floorboards."

However, the Wi-Fi connection was quite slow during our stay, which may be inconvenient for guests who need stable internet access. In addition, I would strongly recommend booking dinner in advance or bringing sufficient food supplies. When we arrived at 1:30, the restaurant was already fully booked,...
"Clean and well located. One unit in a two unit house. Advertised as having a washer dryer but we were disappointed to find that the combined washer dryer unit was out of service when we arrived. The guests in neighbor unit also mentioned theirs was out of order. We had booked this unit in large part for the washer and planned our packing for the trip around having laundry mid trip. Kitchen was stocked with tea and coffee but no basics for cooking (oil, basic spices etc). Beds seemed to be air...
