"Old Showa style minimalistic ryokan, but the room for 5 was spacepus (double room) and the tatami beds and beddings arw comfortable. Self-service to put the futon (which was no problem for us). Power plugs and Wifi were abundant. We were fine with steps but for eldery or disabled it may be a challenge. The hot spring bath was nice. The temperature may be on a hot side but i think it is pretty standard. The tub was indeed made of wood (I assume hinoki).The place seemed to have a fair number of...

Great location in Echoland, 5 minute walk to the main street and lots of shuttle stops for ski resorts within 5 mins or less walk. Discount on rentals and lift tickets was great. "Easy to park. Wife would give it 4 stars. 6 yr old would give 5 stars for the rock climbing wall. No lift for 2nd floor rooms and would have life more space to open suitcases but overall nice place to stay."
