"It’s a 2 star hotel and my expectations were not great but I booked it as a stop off as we had a very late flight back to the UK and had to vacate the ABNB that we had been staying in Marbella at 11am. "We wanted a two night stay in La Cala de Mijas and we knew the location of the Carmen Hotel. We arrived early and asked if we could leave our bags and the gentleman on reception was very friendly and said we could check in at the same time and our room would be ready a little later which was fine. Our room was spacious and very clean. We had breakfast both mornings which were cooked on request and was very tasty. Would certainly recommend to family & friends."

"It was a very nice and covenient place to stay, but too noisy at night, there was a loud noise coming from the building very wird pipe noise it would go on and off. If you're a heavy sleeper or don't mind the noise it's a good place. Very conveniently located, close to all the shops and nice place to stay. The staff was great, very friendly Mr. Rafael. Even gave us something to snack on."

"Receptionist was unnecessarily difficult and rude. Kept wandering off and telling me to book in online but the online booking is not very user friendly. Rooms are very basic but you get what you pay for. I had booked a double with its own private bathroom. But only got a twin with shared bathroom. A/c room heating didn’t work, just looked like the box was installed in the room but not plumbed in or electricaly connected. "Stay was really good , we were there two weeks as a couple so we opted for a one bedroom apartment so we had more rooms but all the studios are really nice and all have a view straight onto the beach and are all frontal so views are fantastic!! , first time ive been in the one bedroom ones and it was a wrap arond balcony so u nearly had a 360 degree view and it was amazing , you wont find a better view coes the stella maris is set more forward and closet to the beach , you can open ur patio...
