"I booked this unit based on the photos, the ocean view, and the proximity to the pool and was looking forward to our trip. After traveling from Chicago for 16 hours and arriving at 7pm, we were given an entirely different unit than what I had booked. The blinds were covered in gnats, the bed linens had hairs on them, there was only one bar stool, and I counted 5 light bulbs that were burnt out. Since we had a late check in and security gave us our key, there was no one that I could talk to...

"We had a wonderful stay at Lavaland in the Lava bus. The bus was comfortable, clean, warm, and had everything we needed for our two-night stay. We loved the star-filled skies, outdoor shower, delicious honey and eggs, and the lava landscape. The owners are welcoming and kind, and they gave us a tour of the unique property. "This rental house was perfect for a family of 4 visiting the big island from Michigan. Plenty of space in the house with AC in the bed rooms and living area. Kitchen had everything needed to do some cooking for easy family meals. The walk to the beach is only a few blocks and the neighborhood is super quiet.
