Learn more about İznik

Ancient Roman and Byzantine ruins surround the turquoise waters of Lake İznik, where you can swim after exploring the city's historic walls. Visit the 6th-century Hagia Sophia church with its remarkable mosaics, then sample local olive oils at family-run shops in the old town.

We were heading on a Biblical Journey and we stopped in Nicea, an old typical Turkish village.

The surrounding walls of the village were still in tact and walking around and through them definitely was a highlight.
