"This hotel has spacious rooms and lovely windows to look over the city. What was absolutely outstanding was the customer service and genuine care from staff. We needed to extend our stay on our day of check out after being hospitalised in kandy. The staff organised everything and even waited until we were discharged from hospital at 1230AM to hand deliver us our room key and make sure we got in safe. "

"it is the 2nd time hotels.com is selling me a place that does not exist anymore. we went to the place after calling but failing to get an answer multiple times, they said they are not open for a year. it was a terrible experience to walk all the way with the luggage at night and trying to find another available hotel was awful."

"The hotel is lovely but dated. It’s in the middle of a residential area, and although google maps says it’s a 20 mins walk to the town centre, it doesn’t account for the monster hills! There was no cleaning in the room whilst we were there, water was charged at an exceptional rate, which we weren’t told about. The staff were very friendly though, and couldn’t help us enough, as we were one of two couples in the hotel during this our of season period. "

"Nice place, friendly couple own it. It is up a big hill, take the taxi the first time, the owner will show you the short cut which is easier than the road. Basic room, no AC but the fan was enough when I was there."

"We loved our stay at Kandy Shady Trees thanks to the very welcoming and accommodating nature of our hosts. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable and breakfast was fresh and substantial. The location is up a steep hill (we took a tuk tuk up and down it) but could be walked. "Es handelt sich um eine sehr große und gepflegte Hotelanlage mit sehr aufmerksamen Personal und tollem infinity pool. Beim Spaziergang rund um die Anlage hat man eine schöne Sicht in die Teeplantagen und kann auch Affen begegnen. Nachteilig ist, dass das Hotel etwas abgelegen ist und eher eine vornehme Anonymität herrscht. "

"It wasn’t good. We arrived late to nobody being around. We had to ask for facilities to cook and for the Wi-Fi, which didn’t work very well. The room wasn’t clean, with us finding hairs in the sheets the bathroom constantly smelling. I reckon once, it was brilliant but now it’s rubbish. Not even in a good location. "

"Exellent resort right on the lake/dam side. We really enjoyed to chill out here for a 2 days break during our motorcycle ride in Sri lanka. Staff and and food were top notch. The resort offer a complimentary boat trip on the lake in the morning. The area is very peaceful as no boats with engines are allowed. The water is very clean and we saw no plastic or rubbish.
