Waterfalls plus more. We only stopped for a night so didn’t really use the kitchen but would be a great option if you wanted to cook your own food. Shared bathrooms were not an issue. "Lava Guesthouse is well-located in the centre of Westman Island and has basically all the amenities required. There are enough bathrooms for all the guests and those are clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and sheets clean. The blackout blind in the bedroom was not super effective however.
The kitchen is quite good. Modern, clean and stocked with basics. Especially good was the dishwasher, and also some hot chocolate powder we found which hit the spot on a cold afternoon."
"Stayed one night in a double room here and In a remote location on a farm and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It’s minutes away from plane wreck and Seljalandfoss which made for a healthy hike on a summer evening. Everything is self explanatory/ service and more of a hostel feel than guesthouse or hotel which we didn’t mind at all. They say there is no breakfast but they have an excellent coffee machine and cereals for you to start your day. Only complaint was the smell in our tiny bathroom but...
"The cottage has just about everything you need in the kitchen which was super helpful for us. The place was very clean and quiet. Check in and check out are easy, self service. We would stay here again and for longer. The property itself was on a beautiful piece of land, we enjoyed a great sunset and tried to see northern lights but it was cloudy."
"Good points. The host communicated well prior to our arrival .he met us promptly and was very pleasant and helpful .bed was comfortable enough. Bad points.the house was very dilapidated, in very bad condition externally which gives a bad first impression .lots of flies around. Room very stark, nothing cosy. Shared bathroom not in good state of repair, pedal bin in bathroom full to the brim with sanitary towels, clearly not emptied in quite a number of days. Very overpriced ."
"Built by the owner, this is a very well designed and constructed guest house. Beautiful room and en suite bath with lots of outlets for charging phones, cameras, etc. Kudos to Andreas for a job well done! Service and travel advice were great too!"
