"The hotel is located very centrally in Tunis making it very easy to walk everywhere, however the street the hotel was on is run down and felt unsafe at night. The staff were extremely kind and helpful especially since it was our first time in the country. The hotel itself however was not the best, the room was not very clean especially the shower area and it generally needed a fair bit of maintenance. There is also no lift making it a little difficult to carry up luggage. Nevertheless it was...

"Dar Ya is conveniently located in Tunis’ medina with friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and common areas, nice rooftop terrace, and great breakfast (both sweet and savoury options available). One downside was that the wifi was only available in the common courtyard, but not too big of a deal as there’s plenty of seating there."

"This was easily one of the best places I’ve stayed in any country. The host, Marouane was a very gracious person and prepared everything for me just as I wished. It’s in a perfect neighborhood and is such a beautiful home itself. Couldn’t recommend it more. I will definitely be returning."

"Although I called 48 hours beforehand to let them know when I was arriving, I never heard back. When I arrived, I couldn't contact the agency because the address given was incorrect. (The person responsible said he had lost his mobile for 6 hours.) It took 3 hours to contact him. A very nice lady who saw I was in need of help took me to her home and called him. However, she even took me to the correct address which he gave her. After that, the stay was nice other than the upstairs neighbors...
