"Passal hostel was a great stay. A very close convent walk to the city center and a 15min walk to the mall. Most of all Paulo was amazing, upon my arrival he helped me with everything I needed, while also assisting other guest. If I could give Paulo himself five stars I would. I will be staying there again."
"We stayed for few days, we found the room cozy, comfortable bed. We had good enough breakfast in thethe mornings. The ocean is close with good access to both parts of the island.
For us negative is the air conditioner. Each time after the cleaning the aircon was set to 17 degrees. It’s way too cold in any situation. Also the aircon probably needs deep cleaning, the room smells like mold when it was on. Also a big pound of condensation water was waiting each time we arrived back the room.

"Room was comfortable but that’s the only positive. Arrived for self check-in within the stipulated time, and the room was not cleaned since the last guests. Customer service is difficult to reach and might be a bot (?). Said to leave immediately because the room was double booked. When I said no, they said that actually they’re just confused with another reservation and they will send a cleaner. Had to wait awhile. Overall very stressful and terrible lack of service - I can’t properly explain...

"The manager Filipe Pedro was incredibily friendly and helpful! For every day we were there, he would send us a detailed guide of what to do in Sao Miguel that would cover the entire island. The room itself was clean and sufficient, and the breakfast was a great addition. It is a 5 min car ride away from the city centre, but very convenient to explore the entire island - overall definitely recommend!"
