Als Dank für die Geburt des Kurprinzen Max Emanuel von Bayern, ließ dessen Vater seiner Gattin Henriette Adelaide von Savoyen zwischen den Ortschaften Obermenzing und Neuhausen ein Schloss mit Garten errichten. Der Name stammt von dem ursprünglichen Namen 'Borgo delle Ninfe'. Die Grundsteinlegung der vom Architekten Agostino Barelli stammenden Anlage war 1664. Im 18 Jh. wurde die Gartenanlagen erweitert um im Stil des französischem Barocks umgestaltet. Heute der Nymphenburger Schlosspark eine der größten und bedeutendsten Gartenkunstwerke Deutschlands. As thanks for the birth of the Prince Elector Max Emanuel of Bavaria, whose father build his wife Henriette Adelaide of Savoy between the villages Obermenzing and Neuhausen a castle with gardens. The name comes from the original name 'Borgo delle Ninfe'. The foundation stone was laid 1664. In the 18th century, the gardens have been added to and redesigned in the style of the French Baroque. Today, the Nymphenburg Palace is one of the largest and most important garden art in Germany.
