Our room was small but we had booked the cheaper option and it was only for one night, so it was perfect for us.
Parking is free on-site. (Not to be assumed in Europe!)

Das war grundsätzlich besser, aber wir mussten das Zahnglas und den Föhn vom ersten Zimmer mitnehmen. In beiden Zimmern überhaupt keine Haken oder aufhänge Möglichkeiten für Jacken oder Tasche, keine Garderobe. Nur einen kleinen Schrank im Basic und einen Doppelschrank im Upgrade Zimmer. "A great value and clean hotel for a quick stopover right in the middle of town. The self check in was easy and clear comms from the staff by email. Great to have a Nespresso machine in the room and a communal lounge with fridge etc too. 5 mins walk from Altstätten Stadt station on the lovely mountain railway to Appenzell and beyond. 20 mins walk or quick bus to Altstätten SG mainline station so easy to get around without a car. Einzig zu bemängeln ist, dass wir nicht das Zimmer bekommen haben, welches wir gebucht haben. Das Wechseln in das richtige Zimmer ging reibungslos. Das Personal vor Ort wie am Telefon war sehr freundlich"

"It was a great stay! I loved the laundry on site and kitchen access. I didn’t realize right away that the check in for parking was separate from checking in for the hotel. So we arrived and weren’t able to park right away. But we called the host, and he was able to help us get a parking space."
