"We had concerns before we got to the hotel based on the reviews but the apartment was awesome! The beds were ready for us with kids’ beds ready too and the kitchen functioned very well for us. The bedding was soft and felt pretty new. It was a comfortable stay. The location was great too. We can just walked to the lake with a bunch of unique houses and views. "

"Kálfafellsstaður Guesthouse is a quaint, quiet B&B about 20 minutes NE of Diamond Beach. The property is clean and picturesque. Thora's breakfast was delicious and diverse. There's a sweet church next door and a cemetery that produced some lovely photos. She has a no shoes inside policy. No problem, but I would have brought slippers if I'd known. The room is small and it is a shared bathroom, but when we really needed to go and another guest was in there, Thora said we could use another...

We only stayed there for 2 nights but this was by far one of the best experiences that we had throughout our 3 week trip across Iceland. The staff and hotel manager were warm and welcoming. The area is extremely peaceful and quiet and if you want to relax and read a book while enjoying the unspoilt scenery, this is the place!"
