"Very central location for Stone Town. Easy to walk to local attractions. Less easy to get back to but that is due to the many narrow streets rather and geography of the area and nothing to do with the hotel! The hotel is known by everyone so if you get lost someone will help you get back. It is noisy with building work going on nearby, calls to prayer, and the church bells ringing but we expected that to be the case and soon got used to it. The air conditioning, fan and turn down service...

"Beautiful old wood architecture and friendly staff. Nice rooftop dining area. Spacious room. Strong AC and great hot water. Easy access to Forodhani and Stone Town sights. Must walk down a short alley from the street to get to hotel from taxi. I would stay here again! "

"It's not so easy to find this place as the Google Map shows a completely different location. Breakfast was delicious. There's a construction goin on next to the hotel so can be noisy sometimes. Overall, very central location and good value for money."

"The Garden Lodge is in a lovely building, the garden is in fact beautiful, there is a restaurant right in the hotel, the staff are very helpful, and the rooms are very pleasant. I would stay here again."

"This is a ghost Hotel! No contacts, no way to reach them. We Couldn’t find it. No body in the area had heard of it. We had to find another place yet I had paid online. Very frustrating! "

"I stayed one night, next morning the smell of sewerage from the bathroom drain was horrendous. I left the hotel immediately . The stairs to the top floors are steep & dangerous . Not a pleasant experience ."

"It is a Hostel I get it that why I book a single room with view on the garden 1 tree over dilapidated roof top is not a garden no curtain in the bathroom with. View on other room no AC which is needed in stone town no thank you check out within the hour and eas told they would not refund the person e who check me in did not know where the pharmacies was and did not try to find out the WiFi did not work in the room"
