We had a one-nighter planned for Islay and wanted to spend the night in very nice accommodations. Saw the Islay House and booked. The pictures did not do this place justice. Emma was an amazing host. The property was clean, the host was welcoming, and the breakfast was superb with a variety of fresh fruits and muffins to go with your main dish. (Definitely say yes to the porridge!!) Be aware, the property is not near any shops or... anything at all, really. It’s a proper country house surrounded by beautiful nature (and right in front of a bus stop) so if you want to eat out or get groceries you’ll have to plan for it as the closest store is 4-5 miles away.
