"Absolutely enjoyed my stay here. The room was so comfortable and everyone was so respectful of being quiet. The front desk staff were also very friendly. I only wish I had brought a swimsuit so I could have enjoyed the spa, but did not think of it. It is also very conveniently located by the train station. I would absolutely stay here again. "

"Such a friendly place. The guy who checked us in was welcoming, humorous and efficient. He worked so hard, I hope the company realise how great an asset he is. He manned reception, served our meal, ran the bar (thanks for the Negroni) and was there doing it all again at breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable and the food was exceptional both at dinner and breakfast. Rooms might be ready for an revamp but everything was clean and worked well. "Location is a double-edged sword. Having a balcony overlooking the grote markt/stadhuis is only nice during the day. Sleeping with all the noise was difficult but overall still possible. The rooms appear to have not been renovated in a while and the hallways were quite dirty. A huge plus is the food, as the restaurant is much better and has many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner"

"Hotel Janssen is a great place to stay. Small B&B style friendly hotel with a fantastic continental breakfast and right next to everything and everywhere you want to go. Nice size rooms that are very clean and comfortable and a nice lobby for relaxing at night with a beer or wine and snack. Highly recommend if you are staying in Valkenburg."

"I don’t recommend this place at all! 3 star is for the River view. Had I known this is actually a youth hostel with some “comfort room” I wouldn’t have booked it at this price for my vacation. River view is not but we had to live with youngsters racing in hallway with big noises at 10:40pm every night! When we arrived on the rainy afternoon at about 2:30, the young guy at front desk didn’t check at all and didn’t dare to look at our eyes and told us check in has to be at 3pm! At 3 pm we were...

"This hotel has been transformed from an old farmhouse, our room was small, but contained mini bar, kettle with possibilies to prepare yourself tea or coffee, there were hair dryer and compulsory toiletries in the bathroom and even safe on the wall. Not common things to have for such a price in Belgium. Bed with quality mattress and very charming old cupboards. And owner or person in charge, who checked us in was also very nice. I'm glad we chose this one."

"The property was located in the centre of all the restaurants and just a few minutes walk from the caves for the Christmas market which was a convenient location. The Hotel itself had a large restaurant. There is no lift and a very steep staircase to the rooms. Our room had a faulty lock so each time we tried to go out it took several minutes for the lock to catch. We did advise a member of staff but they did not do anything about it.
