"Original I was told that they’d call me when the room was ready… The receptionist was short and seemed annoyed… At ~3:00 PM and not having a call back we went and found a most cordial and apologetic receptionist regarding my experience… She was able to locate a beautiful room overlooking the ocean… Our stay from that point was, I’m sure, how guests are to be treated and I expressed my gratitude for their kindness…"

"Beware...if you buy online, you'll likely be disappointed. The general hotel pics show water views but the rooms and descriptions don't say which rooms face the water. I took a chance and I'm now sitting in a room facing the parking lot. At check-in, I offered to pay more to upgrade to a water view but since I bought it online, they refused to make a change even though they had water-view rooms available and I offered to pay more. Their response: "Call us directly next time." Lesson...

"Based on the price, it was fine. We were super lucky and got an upgrade because the room type we reserved wasn’t available on arrival. It wasn’t the cleanest, one of the hot water heaters was out, there was a 1/3” gap under the exterior door, making the room cold, but the hotel staff was quick to bring a towel. I demonstrated the gap when she arrived by telling her to look down and see if she could see my finger under the door. Haha - that was so strange. She quickly understood the problem!...
