"The hotel is well-placed, more or less half-way between the two train stations and in a street of restaurants (mainly Indian). The staff seem to also work in the Mexican restaurant below and all seem to be pretty easy-going about checking in and out. There are about 15 rooms on three floors, en-suite and shared bathrooms. All pretty quiet while we were there."

"What a wonderful place to stay. Friendly staff, management, and owners. I got delayed on my way into Imterlaken and the manager stayed a bit after closing to make sure I got in. Top notch hospitality! This hotel is a perfect home base for exploring the Jungfrau region. Affordable and comfortable. highly recommend getting breakfast as part of your stay. I will be staying here again next time I am in Interlaken. Cheers!"

"If you want to experience the Swiss Alps in a true fashion, stay there. The pension is family run,you eat what they cook. There are no other restaurants around. There’s no tv but a room full of board games, fabulous views. Nights are quiet with only the stars and the sounds of the mountains around you for company. "Hostel was in a great location in the city centre (however that meant slightly further away from the train station ~15 min walk which was a slight struggle with a heavy luggage). Service staff were helpful and friendly. Room had amazing view of the mountains. Decent breakfast spread. The room had a slightly musty smell. Lack of PowerPoints in room for charging"

"Property was a little far from public transportation, about 12 minutes walk from the closest bus station and the road had no sidewalk, making it a little hazardous. Wooden floors were squeaky but the hotel staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. 5 stars to the staff."

"We were only in Switzerland for a couple of days as part of a larger trip but the Hotel Bären was ideally located to explore the Interlaken region and for hiking around Kandersteg. The views from our room were stunning and the area was quiet and relaxing. It is preferable to have a car when visiting as the hotel is 15 minutes or so up a relatively twisty road. The staff were friendly, check in/out was straightforward and the breakfast was really good! "

"This was a one bedroom studio apartment. The condition of the apartment was not great. The apartment is on the 4th floor and the building has no elevator - about which we are not informed about at the time of booking. Imagine carrying 4 suitcases to the 4th floor. The appartment gets direct sun and there were no fans. It got very very hot in the day time. This apartment is built in attic and we kept on bumping our heads. Avoid this place, if you can."

"No space to move. Shower cubicle encrusted with grime, basin without hot water, no toilet paper. Nobody available to assist with anything. Guests are given a contact number, but get hung up on if they ring it. On the plus side, the bed was reasonably comfortable. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else."

"What a beautiful location! We used the trains and buses so the hotel was very convenient. Someone was there to greet us upon arrival but there is a self check-in that is helpful when arriving at various times. Breakfast was available at an extra charge but can be eaten there or taken with you. The shower is in the room so with four people there was a little less privacy and space but beds were comfortable and it is very quiet. This was a great place for us to branch out from this little town...
