"Hostal Palermo was very well located right in the middle of Las Ramblas. Easy to find and staff friendly. I stayed in a single room which was pretty small, but it was clean and had a door that opened onto the street. Noisy at night, but I had no problem with that as was expecting this in this area of the city. I walked everywhere, to all the attractions and parks and did not need public transport. "My stay was excellent, the front desk personnel were very helpful and the cost was reasonable. The view was great and close to lots of shops and restaurants. I took a cruise and it was walking distance to the ship. The room was great, it had a kitchen and I was able to make coffee and tea. There was a microwave as well and dishes. I couldn't ask for any more."

"The rooms are a bit sombre and dark but that's clear what they are going for - it's just not really to my taste, aesthetically. They are stylish though if you like that kinda thing. My shower was a bit chaotic! Biggest selling points to this place are the extremely helpful but laid back and friendly staff. They held on to my bag for me for free for several hours afterwards too. Thanks. I also loved that they had a tea and coffee station (with still and sparkling water too) which was free....
