Located only 90 minutes from Canberra lies the hidden Yaouk Valley, one of the Snowy Mountain Districts best kept secrets. At the head of this valley, nestled between the Namadgi and Kosciousko National Parks, lies Snowgums Mountain Retreat. A unique blend of un-touched Australian Bush, combined with an arboretum-like garden, complete with stunning deciduous trees, swimming and canoe lakes, rivers, wildlife and breath-taking snow-capped views.

So close to Canberra and the Snowy Mountains, yet far enough away to feel completely isolated, Snowgums is one of the most sought-after mountain escape retreats in the area.

NOTE: due to the recent wet weather an AWD or 4WD vehicle is highly recommend as the access road is in poorer condition than normal

Beautiful quiet setting
Lovely clean well-equipped modern house, with spectacular views of snow capped mountains. Warm wood fires. The drive in is a little wild, we managed in an AWD, but a 4WD would have been better, due to the wet weather.

Stunning Grand Design!
We loved our stay at Snowgums. It is a stunning property. Unfortunately we had some access issues due to excessive rains, and had to finish our visit early - but the owner was really lovely and accommodating. We’ll come back after the roads have been fixed! The house was really well appointed and we had some fabulous screen-free family time there!
