A-Frame cabin in the Kaibab Nat'l Forest

Enjoy the tall pines of the Kaibab National Forest as your backyard at our 2BR A-Frame cabin. Centrally located, between Flagstaff and Williams, this quiet and cozy cabin is the perfect stay for couples, families, and hunters. Enjoy modern day comforts with an outdoorsy experience. Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Located 30 minutes from Flagstaff, 10 minutes from Williams, less than 90 minutes from the Grand Canyon, and about an hour from Sedona

Our cabin is a modified A-frame. It is quaint and original. Please be courteous of the space. This is our family cabin, so please treat it as you would your own. Please keep in mind that you are in the forrest and there may be wildlife including bugs and spiders.

There is no A/C, but usually not needed. Fans are provided. Heating upstairs during the winter months can be a challenge. Extra blankets and space heaters are provided.

You will have full access to the cabin, yard, front and back decks.

Other things to note:
There is a local train that runs by every hour. We think this is part of the charm, but if you are a light sleeper you may be bothered by it at night.

Located in the Sherwood Forrest neighborhood just outside Williams. This is a quiet, family neighborhood located directly in the Kaibab National Forest. There are lots of recreational trails just outside.

Cute cozy cabin
We had a great time. The cabin was cute and cozy and there were plenty of blankets to keep warm. I liked how the upstairs with the bedrooms were open, as it made our kids feel more comfortable. There was a train close by but it didn’t bother us; our kids actually loved hearing it go by. Good stay!

Great, quiet location
Cons: The cabin was fully stocked in every room as owners use cabin often, which didn't leave much room for our stuff. Lots of white dog hair everywhere. Water pump and electricity went out a couple times, so we had to flip the breaker. Pros: Located in beautiful pine forest. It snowed like 7" one night! Owners are great with communication and know how to run a business. They gave us a partial refund for the dog hair and expressed sincere concern about the electrical issue.

Planned for months to find out no water in the cabin
A few hours prior to arrival (had 5.5 hour drive to the cabin) I got a call from the owner to tell us that the pipes were frozen and there was no water in the cabin. She said they just found out and they'll have someone come by to fix the issue first thing in the morning (7am) and get the water running. We stayed the night, woke up at 7:30 and there was no water. Couldn’t shower or use the bathroom, though they brought a bunch of gallons of water for toilet but we can’t for vacation, not survival show. I had to call the owner again. The person that was supposed to fix the pipers didn’t get there until 9a. When he finished filling up water in the reservoir or whatever it was, he said that the pipes may or may not thaw and to try to give another hour. We couldn’t stay there any longer, we didn’t shower, brush teeth, couldn’t really use a toilet comfortably, or make any food. We had to leave and get a hotel room. Thank goodness there were rooms available!!! What was really frustrating was that the owner said they didn’t know there was no water until the day of our check in and blamed the previous renter Gabe for not telling them. The cabin was also full of dog fur and the comforter was covered with it. The listing said no dogs allowed. When I confronted the owner she said she will have to talk to the previous renter. The cabin has a doggy door, had two or three dog bowls and a dog toy outside. I mean, who is she fooling? My youngest son has allergies to animal dandruff but thank goodness not too sever. I ruined my two blankets that I used for covers; both were full of fur and wouldn’t come off in the washer. Also, the heating is horrible. There are no vents to let the heat go upstairs so we were freezing that night. I was so glad I took our blankets with us. What is frustrating the most was the lies. Gabe (the previous renter) left a review on 12/18, the day we checked in. He had a horrible and very similar experience. The owner blamed him for not letting them know there was no running water….they also blamed him or some other renter for dog fur even though they have all of the dog paraphernalia at the cabin that they’re the once who have dogs and bring them to the cabin. I guess they don’t wash their bed comforters nor do they clean the couch because it was covered in fur. I really hate giving bad reviews but this has to be noted. Our vacation was ruined.

Nice rustic cabin, but
This was my first solo vacation with my two grandchildren ages 7 and 10. Little did I know that their fear of bugs was that extreme because somehow moths entered the cabin and freaked them out. Our 5-night stay turned into a 3-night stay. A thin layer of dust the color of the road leading to the cabin was everywhere. The refrigerator could have been cleaned more thoroughly and leftover perishables should have been tossed. But the Nespresso coffee maker was a win so we’re the ingredients for s’mores.

Fun cabin in the forest!
We loved our stay at this fun cabin! We loved that is was in the middle of the forest surrounded by trees and also really close to fun things to do! The only problem we had was that it was so close to the train tracks with trains running at all hours of the night! I am a light sleeper so it made sleep a little difficult. But the super comfy beds were a huge plus! Even with the trains, we'd probably stay here again.
