Summer Fun on Chandler Lake! Escape to the Great Up North!

Welcome to Chandler Lake Landing! This hidden gem has only been on the rental market a few years. If you're looking for the classic summertime vacation experience, you'll find it at Chandler Lake Landing.

The 1300 square foot cottage is nestled among the pines on the east end of Chandler Lake - just outside of Traverse City. You'll have a full-length view of the lake from east to west. Amazing sunsets await you. You will be just footsteps from the beautiful lake as you walk out the front door.

On the south side of the property is 18 acreas of State land - truly making this a very private setting. Enjoy the wildlife you may encounter as you drive down the private and wooded lane.

This beautiful cottage has been in the family for more than 30 years, but now the family wants to share it with you! The all-sport lake is a beautiful setting for families to enjoy. Travel over to the sandbar in the middle of the lake to relax, swim and visit with others who love to do the same thing.

As you can see from the pictures, the interior of the cottage has an open layout between the living room, dining room, kitchen and sun porch. So much room for your family to relax and enjoy when they are not outside. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook family meals - if you so desire. The outdoor areas offer a couple of different spots for seating and hanging out. While someone grills tonight's dinner on the new gas grill - the rest of you can relax and enjoy a beverage on the outdoor patio.

A special bonus - the Tiki Hut - a separate building from the cottage. Equipped with a mini refrigerator inside and deck with patio furniture outside - your family will love relaxing here. You can even plug in the outside lights at night for more ambiance.

We offer the rental of a pontoon boat to further elevate your enjoyment of the lake. Please ask the host/property manager for details.

Relax and enjoy our little piece of heaven, tucked away in a private setting. You'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you're just minutes from bustling Traverse City and other area attractions.

Chandler Lake Landing - where memories are made!

Great stay at Chandler Lake Landing!
Had a recent 6 night stay with 4 adults and a toddler. The home was perfect - very comfortable and clean with so much seating space. The home had everything we needed for the stay. We loved the outdoor space and the flat walk to the lake/dock with amazing views. The home felt very private and we had a great time playing on the beach, kayaking and having campfires at night. The property manager and owner were very responsive and kind. I would absolutely return and recommend staying!

Fun time
Sally was absolutely wonderful and very on top of things. The place was a perfect spot on the lake with such beauty. The Tiki Hut was an added bonus as was the kayak and canoe. Our 2 yr old grandson loved digging in the dirt, fishing for the dock, and swimming at the sand bar. The open area in the kitchen and family room were perfect for great conversations and the the big table was perfect for games. The smaller bedrooms were a bit tight. The water was fun but the leaves made it a bit murky. We created some wonderful memories and felt like this was home for the week.

Lakeside Bliss: The Ultimate Family Getaway Filled with Fun and Relaxation!
This was one of our best vacations ever. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views of the lake and the serene surroundings. The cabin itself was immaculate and extremely well-stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. One of the highlights of our stay was the private dock and the variety of watercraft available. The kayaks, canoe, and rowboat greatly enhanced our experience, allowing us to explore the lake and enjoy the beautiful scenery from different perspectives. Our 13-year-old daughter enjoyed the water so much that we often had to coax her out of it! The sandbar on the lake was incredibly fun and provided a perfect spot for swimming and relaxing. The neighbors were very friendly, adding to the welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. A delightful surprise was the cute Tiki bar on the property. Our 13-year-old daughter took on the role of bartender and served up “mocktails” with a flair, which quickly became a highlight of our evenings! Sally Washington, our host, was absolutely awesome. She was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality made our experience even more enjoyable. The location of the cabin was ideal – secluded enough to offer peace and quiet, yet conveniently close to nearby towns and attractions. If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway, I highly recommend this cabin. You won't be disappointed

Classic "Up North" Lake Vacation
This charming lake house property had everything we needed for a relaxing and fun vacation. The small lake is easily managed by canoe, kayak, or the pontoon boat. The sandbar swimming was fun for our teens, but would be great for smaller children too. There was minimal boat traffic -- we often felt like we were the only ones on the water! We caught many largemouth bass! Easy distance to hiking, parks, groceries and Traverse City downtown. Would go again! Felt like vacations from my childhood.

Perfect Setting
The private, wooded setting, the beautiful lake views, and the easy access to the lake made this the perfect setting for a summer get-away. And in spite of the feeling of being "away from it all," we were just 15 minutes from the lovely Traverse City downtown area of shops and restaurants, and only 20 minutes from the wine region. A day trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes, with a stop at Moomers on the way home, was perfect. We also enjoyed just hanging around the lake - kayaking, or just sitting on the dock in the evening watching a loon. The house itself is very nice. The living/dining/kitchen is spacious and well furnished with views from the many windows. The master bedroom is roomy with a large closet. The other bedrooms are small, but fine for kids. The second bath is compact. The outside area is great - huge deck with lots of furniture, very nice firepit with surrounding chairs, and the adorable Tiki Bar. Lots of shade in the afternoon, but also room to get in the sun if desired. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect getaway
We had a fantastic time at this cottage. It really made time slow down for us. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The manager Sally is very friendly and helpful. The lake was very quiet and relaxing we enjoyed boat rides, campfires in the evenings, fishing and the kids loved the sandbar. It’s a close drive to Traverse City where we enjoyed shopping, mini golf, ice cream and the food trucks! We also took a day and went to the Dune climb, Fishtown, Van’s beach for some rock hunting and a winery. The sunrises at the lake are breathtaking as well as the stars at night. We even enjoyed a rainy afternoon of playing cards! We saw turtles, deer, lots of chipmunks and even a loon on the lake. It’s a perfect little tucked away gem that out whole family loved! We will forever cherish our time spent here!

A Beautiful Week
The cottage is tucked away in beautiful forest with a lovely view of the lake, yet still an easy drive to Traverse City attractions and a grocery store not far away. It was perfectly clean, cozy, and well equipped, with canoe and kayak options to get on the water. We had three couples in our group and found plenty of space and privacy for a relaxing week. Sally was very responsive to help us feel comfortable. A nice bonus was some of the best bass fishing any of us have experienced.

Wonderful, relaxing and beautiful location!
My family & I (7 of us ranging in age from 6 to 65+ years) spent a week at Chandler Lake Landing. The cottage was very clean, the beds are very comfortable and the view of the lake is so beautiful and relaxing! The canoe, kayaks and rowboat all were frequently used to great enjoyment as was the pontoon boat. The weather was fantastic and the cottage is close to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear, etc. for easy day trips. We definitely will keep Chandler Lake Landing as a place to revisit!

Great stay at Chandler Lake!
We had a wonderful stay at Chandler Lake with our two little boys, who enjoyed the walk-in access to the sandy lake where they were able to wade and splash. The property is quiet and private on a beautiful little lake. While we didn't spend much time in the house, it was perfect for what we needed and Sandy was very helpful in addressing a few things during our stay. We would easily come back again!

Blissful summer stay at Chandler Lake
After four long years apart, we wanted a perfect cottage location for adults ranging in age from 50 something to 70 something, and for two almost teenagers. Chandler Lake Landing hit the mark and then some! Clean, well-kept, spacious living, with incredible outdoor spaces, a dock, kayaks, a canoe, and rowboat--we could have stayed a month, happily. The place is clearly tended with love, and we appreciated the personal greetings and touches.

Wonderful cottage on a great lake!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and plan on booking again for next year. The house is the only one on the lake with completely flat access to the lake, no steps, etc. We rented the pontoon boat and had a great time fishing - lots of blue gill and largemouth bass. There are also kayaks, a row boat and a canoe with oars and life jackets. The Tiki Hut has a small refrigerator in it which came in handy for beer & bait! This is a cottage so understand the size before you book. The master bedroom and master bath are a fairly good size and the bunk room is also good. However, the other guest room and bath are very small (think RV-size) so just understand this before you book. They say you can put 8 in there and technically you can (with 2 on a sofa bed in the sitting room) but I think it would be tight. I would say maybe 2 adults and four kids would be a good mix. The property manager, Sally, was awesome and answered all of our questions quickly. The location to Traverse City is perfect and yet you are really out in the woods. There are other houses around but you feel like you have a great deal of privacy. I would highly recommend this house!

Wonderful Family Getaway
We wanted a vacation back where I grew up and to introduce two of our grandkids to northern MI. We had a wonderful week exploring the area and playing on the lake. The kids loved paddling out to the sandbar and playing, we all loved sitting around the fire pit making s’mores. The Tiki bar was a bonus the kids loved. Maybe one of the best surprises was that Chandler Lake Landing is tucked in the woods and still right on the lake…we felt like we had our own little oasis.

Beautiful cabin on an almost private lake
My family and I very much enjoyed staying here. My husband and I spent 6 nights in the cabin with our 2 yo and 6 yo boys. The cabin's position on the lake makes it feel almost private even though there are homes on either side. The cabin was more spacious than we expected after reading other reviews and the kitchen was very well stocked with equipment. We rented the pontoon boat which was a perfect addition for a family that loves fishing, and spent a few afternoons riding out to the sand bar in the middle of the lake. Sally was very kind and attentive and answered questions very promptly. It strikes a nice balance between cabin and house and though it's still rustic and woodsy, it's also very clean with lots of modern comfort. A very lovely vacation home!

The best of both worlds!
What can we say? Chandler Lake Landing exceeded our expectations. Starting with Sally as the most hospitable host, the cozy home, serene surroundings, fantastic amenites set our two families up for a perfect summer getaway. The remote and tranquil location was just a 15 minute drive to the happenings in downtown TC, striking the perfect balance of chilling out and getting out and about. Our group had four adults and two kids ages 8 and 11, and the layout and size of the house worked out great for everyone. It was pristine, clean, and incredibly well stocked. We all enjoyed tiki bar, fire pit, kayaks, pontoon boat, and caught lots of fish. We all enthusiastically give 5 stars and can't wait to return!

Our Stay
Everything on the listing was correct. It was a very peaceful weekend and great for anyone who wants to chill and relax. One thing we weren't expecting was the amount of spiders/other bugs inside and around the cottage. It makes sense because the home is nestled in a wooded area, but we didn't realize just how dense the woods were. We didn't feel that the added cleaning responsibilities checking out matched the amount we paid in cleaning fees. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded and peaceful lake setting, this is your spot. The lake is on the smaller side and not very lively--so again perfect for a relaxing weekend. We found ourselves driving into town a lot for something to do, so it was great that it was only a 15-20 minute drive to Traverse City. Overall it was a good experience.
