"Fantastic stay at hotel kamenoi with the panoramic view of the mount aso greeting us every morning and star gazing at night. My kids absolutely love the huge grass patch and the myriad of toys, sports equipment like baseball, curve ball and soccer balls to keep them occupied. The outdoor onsen is a must try. Definitely recommend this hotel to fellow travellers"

"The service staff is very helpful. We bought wine and watermelon and asked if we can have wine opener and knife to cut but they offer to help us instead, the service staff even provided wine glass and put the cut watermelon on a platter with presentation. What excellent services. The hotel is very comfortable with good mountain view in the morning. Reasonable breakfast spread too. "

"Pros: Good value. Spacious rooms. Relatively large beds. Quiet area. Easy, ample parking. Hotel connected to a convenience store. Good free breakfast. Walking distance to Amaterasu train attraction. Cons: A bit further away from Takachiho Gorge, about 5min drive. No view from hotel. Laundry was a bit expensive, had to buy detergent from the front desk separately from the laundry machine fee. "

"We had a wonderful stay. The atmosphere, food, staff, and hospitality are amazing. We loved the onsen available on site, but also managed to visit other onsen in town (you can get an onsen hopping pass from the town visitor center). Overall very tranquil and relaxing. One thing to note is that the pillows can be small and you may need to ask for larger or additional pillows. Highly recommend and would visit again. "
